Vintage 1969 Martin D28 Acoustic Guitar Brazilian Rosewood Dreadnought 28
This is a 1969 Martin D28 Acoustic Dreadnought Guitar. Many luthiers, players, and collectors feel this is the true "iconic-model" of the American Dreadnought. Many famous guitar player's love this model (i.e. Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Hank Williams..etc.). Made by C.F. Martin & Company in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, it is the widely known Dreadnought 28 model that everyone is looking to own. This guitar has been setup by Martin Certified Master Luthier Steve Lamb of Fort Worth, TX. Neck was just reset and guitar was looked over, frets dressed..etc. Brazilian Rosewood back & sides, Sitka Spruce top, 1-piece mahogany neck. The first owner of this guitar was Chip Chase, his band was Woods Tea Company in Vermont. It was his #1 personal guitar that he used when recording. This group was a well-known American Folk Band from the Northeast U.S. His widow sold this guitar to another owner, which then past hands to us. The guitar has been played on tour and has been performed on for decades. Frets have normal wear. Nicks and dings on the guitar as well as natural checking on the body/top. As with many guitars of this age there was a crack inside the guitar that was professionally repaired & cleated, overspray can be seen on the back of the guitar making the guitar look like new. Professionally mounted electronics allow for the guitar to be plugged in as an acoustic electric for live performances.
